INTERNATIONAL FOOD CONTEST

This week in our English class, the students of 1st ESO have participated in an INTERNATIONAL FOOD CONTEST.

They had to choose a foreign country.

They had to prepare a powerpoint or poster with the basic information of the country.

They also prepared and cooked a typical recipe of the country.

We had few days to do some research on the topic in small groups, pairs or individually.

Then the students had to create their recipe.

They cooked it at home.

Finally, they presented the work done with their own stand at the FAIR.

We had some visitors that marked each performance according to these categories:

1. Oral explanation
2. Visual support
3. Presentation of the dish

Which one would you think was the winner?

Here you have some of the countries chosen:
CUBA:

 SWEDEN:

 INDIA:

ENGLAND:

 MEXICO II:

MOROCCO:

THAILAND:

We watched the video of the real race:

We learnt how to prepare real pancakes with a recipe:

Then we cooked them at home. We prepared our own recipe and recorded ourselves cooking it.

We had to bring an apron, a hat and a saucepan to run the race.

Finally, we enjoyed the pancakes...delicious!
